Your calling as a Christian

Among the most fundamental questions that dwell within many of us are: "What is my purpose? Or is there any purpose? Does God really have anything special in mind for my life, some special calling I am supposed to pursue?"

These questions, the answers to them, and the universality of these questions are what have made Rick Warren's Purpose-Driven Life a phenomenal bestseller.

There is another popular book that affirms we are given a calling. It's the Bible.

For instance, in Romans, the apostle Paul exhorts us to do what we were intended to do:

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully." (Romans 12:4-8, New International Version)

In his public speaking engagements, Joe Sturniolo, the founder of ROAR, dramatically echoes the apostle's message. Whether addressing a group of 100 or 1,000, Joe is able to rouse the souls of those in the audience, driving home the message that we are endowed with special God-given gifts and talents. He points the way to discovering or rediscovering those gifts, and how they can be put to use for the benefit to others in careers, everyday life, and volunteerism. Best of all, his audiences come away with the knowledge that in finding and pursuing our appointed purpose, we also cannot help but feel passion and find joy in the doing.

Christian Speaking Topics

Joe's audiences are exposed to the fundamental principles of ROAR, including:
  • We all live in too small a circle of comfort, one surrounded by a wall of fear.
  • All of life's rewards come to those who are willing to break through the wall of fear, follow their heart, and pursue their passions.
  • We, alone, must all make decisions about our passion and journey, but we will not get very far in that journey if we try to do it alone.
  • Courage to act and move through and beyond a daunting obstacle always comes from having a heartfelt purpose - a purpose that serves both man and God.
